How it works
Who are we?
ProTerrenas is a platform connecting users with professionals and local businesses (home and maintenance, construction and materials, property management and concierge, health, beauty and wellness, and shops) in Las Terrenas (Samaná province, Dominican Republic). It is operated by THERD SRL, a Dominican company. We do not carry out the work ourselves, except for our own services, which are always identified as “ProTerrenas service”.
How a request works
- You choose a service (or “Other / not sure”) and leave your WhatsApp number. It is the only required field: specifics, urgency, details and photos are optional. No account is needed.
- Your request is received by our team, not by a provider. A request marked “today” appears at the top of our list.
- We message you on WhatsApp to clarify your need.
- We suggest a suitable professional. With your agreement, we pass your request and contact details on to them, limited to what is useful for the job.
- The professional gives you a quote: you are free to decide whether to go ahead.
Your request is neither an order nor a commitment to carry out work, and we do not promise any timeframe: it depends on the actual availability of professionals. In case of immediate danger (fire, electrocution, serious flooding), call 911: our form is not an emergency service.
The provider directory
The directory lists businesses and tradespeople active in Las Terrenas, identified by our team from public sources or registered and then approved. For each one, we show what we know from identified sources: services, areas, languages spoken, whether emergencies are accepted, whether quotes are free or paid, prices collected. Missing information remains “not specified”: in filters, it is never counted as a “yes”.
Providers are not our employees nor, unless stated, our partners. We do not “certify” them and display no ratings or reviews. Their contact details are not published: you go through our team.
Where do the prices come from?
Most work is done on quote. We only display a price if it comes from an identified source (provider's website, confirmation from the provider or a record made by our team), with its date. A price range per service only appears if it is calculated from actual prices collected from at least two providers; otherwise, we show “on quote”. Maintenance contracts (pool, garden, cleaning, concierge, property management) are displayed per month or per visit, as indicated by the source.
To keep information up to date:
- a profile whose information has not been confirmed for 30 days is marked “information to be reconfirmed”;
- after 90 days without confirmation, its prices are no longer used for price ranges or comparisons; the profile remains visible.
An amount displayed is neither a quote nor a commitment of availability by the provider. Dates and times are those of the Dominican Republic (America/Santo_Domingo).
Featured placements
Professionals may be featured in placements separate from the directory, always labeled “Sponsored”. This does not change the order of the directory and gives them no access to your data.
Your data
Only our team sees your contact details and photos. We do not sell your data. Full details are in our privacy policy.
