Terms of use

These terms govern the use of the site proterrenas.com (“the site”), published by THERD SRL (“we”). By using the site, you accept these terms.

1. What the site is

The site is a platform connecting users with tradespeople and service providers in Las Terrenas, Samaná (Dominican Republic): home and maintenance (plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, pools, gardens, cleaning), construction and materials (building work, renovation, architects, doors and windows, hardware stores), property management and concierge, health (doctors, clinics, physiotherapy, dentists, pharmacies), beauty and wellness, and shops (supermarkets and colmados). The site does not provide medical consultations: in a medical emergency, call 911.

• You describe your need; our team receives the request, contacts you on WhatsApp and suggests a professional.
• The providers in the directory are independent businesses or tradespeople. They are not our employees nor, unless marked “Partner” with its date, our partners. We do not certify them and display no ratings, reviews or “verified” badges.
• We do not publish providers' contact details: to contact one, you go through our form.
• We may offer our own services; they are always identified as “ProTerrenas service”.

2. A request is neither an order nor a commitment

• Only your WhatsApp number is required. The site does not allow ordering or paying online.
• A request is neither an order nor a commitment to carry out work, either for you or for a provider.
• We do not promise any timeframe for the work: it depends on the actual availability of professionals.
• We only pass your request and contact details on to a professional with your agreement (see the Privacy policy).
• The form is not an emergency service. In case of immediate danger (fire, electrocution, serious flooding), call 911.

3. Prices and quotes

• Most work is done on quote. A price is only displayed if it comes from an identified source (provider's website, confirmation from the provider, a record made by our team with proof), with its verification date. A price range per service is only published if it is calculated from actual prices collected, with the number of sources and the date.
• An amount displayed is neither a quote nor a commitment of availability by the provider. Prices may have changed since they were collected.
• A conversion between US dollars and Dominican pesos uses a dated rate and is only indicative.
• The applicable price is the one in the provider's quote that you accept. We recommend that you ask for a written quote, do not pay the full amount before the work and check references.

4. The relationship with the provider

• The service contract is concluded directly between you and the provider (or with THERD SRL for a “ProTerrenas service”).
• We are not a party to the contract concluded with an independent provider: performance of the work, its quality, guarantees and invoicing are the responsibility of that provider.
• Any guarantees or years in business displayed on a profile are those stated by the provider, and are marked as such.

5. Sponsored content

Professionals may benefit from featured placement. It always appears in a location separate from the directory, labeled “Sponsored”, and disappears automatically when it expires. It does not change the order of the directory.

6. Listed professionals

• Listing is free. A profile is only published after approval by our team.
• Published: trade name, services, areas, languages, terms and prices provided, photos for which the professional holds the rights and authorizes publication. Kept private: phone, WhatsApp, email, website, social media, address and the full name of a self-employed tradesperson without their agreement.
• Listing does not guarantee any requests.
• We may refuse, modify or remove a profile (inaccurate information, unconfirmed business, reports, content used without rights). The professional may request the correction or removal of their profile at any time.

7. Photos and illustrations

The site's icons and illustrations are generic: they do not show the work of any provider. Photos of completed work are only published with a documented authorization or license. The photos you attach to a request remain private.

8. Acceptable use

You agree to provide accurate information and a number that belongs to you or that you are authorized to use, not to send abusive or automated requests, not to extract data from the site by automated means, not to circumvent its security measures and not to use it for unlawful purposes. We may decline to follow up on requests that do not comply with these rules.

9. Intellectual property

The site's texts, icons and illustrations are protected and may not be reproduced without permission, except where permitted by law. You may freely share links to the site's pages. Professionals' names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law: we do our best to publish accurate and dated information, but it comes from professionals and public sources and may contain errors or have changed; we are not responsible for the performance of services carried out by independent professionals; we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation of the site. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under applicable consumer protection rules, in particular Dominican Law No. 358-05.
